Bill Pambianco Sr. opened the doors to The Pet Zone in August of 1985. It was a passion and hobby that he knew from an early age that he wanted to make it a life’s work. When the Pet Zone opened its doors it was located on Main Street in Pittston in an 800 square foot store. Since then it has expanded in to a 12,000 square foot facility. The new 20 West Oak street location is right across the street from the original. With the move in 2004 the store expanded to carry everything for all your pet needs.

Bill Sr’s passion has always been fish, so he went with what he knew. The store has the largest selection of Saltwater Fish and Corals in the area. It does not just stop there they carry everything you need for both your fresh and saltwater needs, as well as pond fish and supplies.

From an early age Bill Jr. had an interest in reptiles. He started keeping and breeding them at the age of 7. By the time he reached high school, he had assembled a huge collection. Now the store features one of the largest selections of reptiles around, many of which are bred right in the store.

After expanding upon the fish and reptile selections, the store then proceeded to bring in many dog and cat supplies. They carry everything from food and treats, to toys and shampoos and everything in between. They currently stock Nutro and Science Diet Dog and Cat Foods. Flea treatments such as Frontline and Advantage are also sold in store.

For those of you with the need for the more cuddly pets, The Pet Zone offers for sale Marshall’s Ferrets, hamsters, birds, and other small animals. They also stock all the supplies and homes needed to keep your furry or feathered new friend happy and healthy.

The Pet Zone's newest expansion, "The Cave", came with the help of Jason Bartoli and wife Megan Bartoli, friends of the family. The Cave is a reptile zoo and education center located in the Pet Zone. The Cave opened in January 2010. It currently houses their private collection of venomous snakes and lizards, a huge monitor, and two 6 foot alligators. There are still many expansions and changes on the way so be sure to keep checking back. The Cave offers reptile shows and feedings every weekend.
